Written by Penewit.org
Dr. W. H. Penewit raised as a Roman Catholic, accepted Jesus at 18 years old. He was a charter member of The Palos Verdes Faith Center in Palos Verdes California under Dr. Ed Dufresne in the mid 1970's. "It was there that the journey began" states Dr. Penewit. "I remember sitting in those services listening to Dr. Dufresne and seeing things take place that I thought were impossible". It was there that Dr. Penewit learned that nothing is impossible with Jesus.

"I learned that The Word works even during the most difficult circumstances", and at The Penewit Center, that belief is stronger than ever. Dr. Penewit incorporates this same faith in all of his sessions. Dr. Penewit's work with single and married adults and his research with these groups keep The Penewit Center in the forefront of faith based therapy. However, there are many that do not know that Dr. Penewit's work with children has been his heart his entire practice. Dr. Penewit remembers his childhood as one of joy as well as challenges. Today a child is in greater need of guidance than they have every needed before. The Penewit Center's work and research with Temperament and Children offers a spiritual aspect to your child's growth as well as every aspect of their lives. Dr. Penewit is researching new counseling models that deal with stress in people. Stress is seen as something that must be dealt with as a foe and not an accepted friend. Dr. Penewit does not see stress as a character builder, but something that CAN be dealt with successfully. Dr. Penewit realizes that stress can cause physical illnesses as well as mental illness.

Dr. Penewit is a Professional Clinical Member with the National Christian Counselors Association and a Board Certified Temperament Counselor. He has achieved diplomat status with The National Board of Christian Clinical Therapists and is a Board Certified Clinical Supervisor, training therapists in counseling disciplines. Dr. Penewit specializes in marriage and family therapy, children and teens as well as individual therapy.

Having pastored for 6 years and been in ministry for many years, Dr. Penewit has a heart for Ministers and their families. He understands the "ins and outs" of ministry and the problems that ministers face on a daily basis.

Dr. Penewit conducts in-depth sessions with pastors, helping to guide them through marriage difficulties. Ministers have different marital needs than other couples, and with that, The Penewit Center is very involved with "Life in a fishbowl" life of the pastoral family.

Dr. Penewit's research in Temperament allows the client to see what really makes them tick, and how to capitalize on the strengths and work on the weaknesses

Linda Penewit PDF Print E-mail
Written by Penewit.org
Linda Penewit was born and raised in a ministers family where her parents were missionaries in the United States. She grew up under her father, The Late Rev. Neal Alexander and her mother Esther, learning the true meaning of the word "servitude". At the young age of 9 years old, she began teaching people of all ages during the legendary "Vacation Bible Schools & Bible Camps" that her parents held during the summer months in rural Iowa and surrounding states.

She taught classes of adults as well as children at this young age as she learned to serve the Body of Christ, learning under the teaching of her father, the late Rev. Neal Alexander. Through this training and her love for humanity, Linda has a keen awareness of people who are hurting, and a desire to reach those in need. Linda has a special place in her heart for Pastors, Ministers and their families. She states " I know what "life in a fish bowl" is all about"

She and her husband are in the process of developing ministry centers specifically for pastors, ministers and their families to come and heal, rest and relax. Linda can reach children with her tender heart, administering her knowledge of successful communication. Linda connects with children in ways that very few therapists do, with positive results. She connects with parents and provides them answers to questions that they may have thought could never be answered. Linda refuses to class a child in a negative light and from that, administering patience and love bring children and teens to a place of healing and wholeness.
